⚡️ EasyEDA: the first PCB (by yourself)

Sooner or later, all electronics engineers have a desire to make their PCB. Are you planning to poison yourself or will you order from the Chinese? In any case, you will need an electronic version of the board.
In this tutorial, we will introduce the easyeda platform. There are alternatives to easyEDA, such as Autodesk eagle. I chose easyEDA because it is simple for beginners. In this manual, I will show the most necessary tools to quickly create a model board.
So let's get started.
You can use the web version, or you can download and install the program. I recommend installing it because the desktop version is more productive. Go to the easyeda website.

The developers have focused on the ease of use of the application. What you need for beginners.
To work with the application, you need to create an account or enter an existing one. You can also use a google account.

Create a new project.

Enter the name of the project.

After creating a project tab appears. The main components for projects can be found on the EELib tab on the left. From here I will take a pair of resistors.

Double-clicking on the text with a resistor rating opens the label change field.

To add specific components, you can use the search in libraries, but you need to write a query concisely and in English. Click on libraries under EElib.

From here I will take the connector for three pins (header 3).

When all components are in place, you need to connect them. Click on the foot of the object and pull to the desired point on the scheme. To rotate an item, select it and press the space bar.

Now that you have a circuit, you can start creating a circuit board. To do this, save the scheme and click the “Convert to PCB” button.

A tab with a pink frame and components opens. All components must be placed compactly inside the frame and fit to size. It is understood that the tracks will not intersect.

Take a look at the masonry tools:

  1. draw track
  2. add soldering hole
  3. add text
  4. add hole

The rest will not be considered.


Now go through the layers

  • Red - top tracks
  • Blue - lower tracks
  • Yellow - captions and designations on the top layer
  • Green-Brown - captions and designations on the bottom layer


That's how the elements are located on the board.

We conduct tracks on the back side. Try to do on one side, the cost of production will be less.

Add pin notation on the top text layer. On the right, in the settings panel, you can change the text and its size.

Save our board CTRL + S

Open the 3D model of the board and enjoy our work. When viewing, you can change colors and turn off individual layers.
